Swara AI ("we", "our", or "us") is a vocal training application for Indian classical music. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the Swara AI mobile app or website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Email address and display name when you register or sign in via Amazon Cognito.
• Practice data: Session recordings metadata (duration, score, note accuracy), practice streaks, and progress history. We do not store raw audio recordings.
• Microphone access: The app accesses your device microphone in real time solely to detect pitch during practice sessions. Audio is processed entirely on your device — it is never transmitted to our servers.
• Usage analytics: Anonymous event data (feature usage, screen views, session counts) via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app.
• Device information: Operating system, app version, and crash reports for debugging purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalize the app experience (practice history, progress tracking, streaks).
• To enable classroom features — sharing progress with a teacher you explicitly join.
• To send optional daily practice reminders if you enable notifications.
• To improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features using aggregated analytics.
• To communicate important account or service updates.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States. We use Amazon Cognito for authentication, Amazon DynamoDB for practice data, and Amazon CloudFront for content delivery. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authenticated requests only.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers: AWS (infrastructure), Firebase/Google (analytics) — bound by their own privacy policies.
• Your teacher: If you join a classroom, your practice session summaries (score, duration, progress) are visible to the classroom owner.
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

5. Microphone and Audio Data

Swara AI requires microphone access to detect your singing pitch in real time. This audio stream is processed locally on your device using on-device algorithms. No audio data is recorded, stored, or transmitted to our servers at any time.

6. Children's Privacy

Swara AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Opt out of analytics tracking (by disabling analytics in your device settings).
• Withdraw consent for notifications at any time in your device settings.

To exercise these rights, please use our support form. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and practice data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party services:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure and authentication
• Firebase Analytics (Google) — anonymous usage analytics
• Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and in-app purchases (if applicable)

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing data they process.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, via an in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
